HOW TO DRAW GARFIELD

Garfield has to be one of my favourite characters. The overweight, self-centered, lasagna loving orange tabby was created by Jim Davis in 1978. Garfield was born in the kitchen of Mama Leone’s Italian restaurant. He weighed five pounds, six ounces. He torments his owner Jon with sarcastic remarks. Here is a step-by-step tutorial on how to draw Garfield.

Step 1: Sketch circle and oval shapes of  his lazy posture.

Step 2 : Fill in ears and more detail to the overall body shape.

Step 3: Define the hands and feet. Add his tabby markings. Complete his facial features.

Step 4: Darken your outline of Garfield and fix any errors.

Step 5: Color him in orange.

I got a personal trainer and have been hitting the gym again! Nothing like a painful rebirth….my legs are BURNING today! Owie owie owie!

I love reading your stories…you got the skills! Also, back in the day you drew a kick ass Garfield. I remember I “hired” you in grade 6 to draw a Garfield birthday card for my mom's 40th birthday!
